OLD IS GOLD!!!~

Before reading this post of an amateur  writer I would like to ask my honourable readers a few questions. Just three of them. Do you love hearing from your grandma? Do you share all your nonsense stuff with your grandpa? Do you love your grandparents? The obvious reply would be "Yeah! I love them!

Grandparents are the one who teach us the language of love, care and affection, after our parents. Our grandparents are in a age where they just need some amount of care, affection and attention. They teach us many moral values through their talks. They are our 'superheroes' who save us from the thrashes of our mom and dad. Our grandparents do not want or desire a share in our property. They just want us. They want to be a part of all our happy moments.

But today's generation is not capable of understanding this. I personally feel that grandparents  or senior  citizens are a link to the past. From them, we can extract a lot of things about past, and history.
My grandma plays a very essential role in shaping up my life and I firmly believe that so do they play in your lives too.

As people say 'old is gold' in today's world old people are human beings full of values worth more than gold. So just keep taking care of them and always be the reason for their happiness.

MY TIME WITH MY GRANDMA!!!~

I am so happy to write this post on 'my time with my grandma'.I go to my mother's native place during vacations to visit my grandmother. Both myself and my grandma are eager to meet each other and keep asking my mother when we will be meeting.

When I finally meet her she makes me and my sister many snacks to eat such as 'pazhampori'[a snack made up from the paste of banana fried in oil],'murukku' and lots of banana chips and jaggery chips which is famous there. We spend the day talking and often she tells my sister and me on the importance and relevance of mythology in our daily life. She asks us to workship god daily. Before leaving she gives us money to buy gifts.

Even though we dont visit see each other daily,I still love her very much.I dont understand how people these days are leaving their parents in old age homes. It is unimaginable.Of course i will take care of my parents and grandparents forever!

20 years from now!!!

When we were small our parents showered us with love and affection. They took of our needs and even sacrificed certain things so that we can have a comfortable life.

So how are you gonna show your love and gratitude for them 20 years from now?

QUOTE OF THE DAY!!

Hello,

Here is today's quote of the day:

'The complete life, the perfect pattern, includes old age as well as youth and maturity. The beauty of the morning and the radiance of noon are good, but it would be a very silly person who drew the curtains and turned on the light in order to shut out the tranquillity of the evening. Old age has its pleasures, which, though different, are not less than the pleasures of youth.'

It was quoted by W. SOMERSET MAUGHAM one of the most popular writers of his era,in his book The Summing Up.

OLD AGE IS THE SECOND CHILDHOOD!!!

Hey Guys,
What do you think of the new title of the blog?!?!?

It is actually based on  a famous quote by ARISTOPHANES,a comic playwright of ancient Athens as told in his play, THE CLOUDS;

'The old are in a second childhood'

Hope you like it.

WELCOME!!!!

We the students of class 10 are conducting a survey and compiling a report on the lives of old people in old age homes found in and around our city.
We would like to know about -
  • the reason why they are here
  • their feelings about it
  • their life before
  • their childhood - education received
  • their stay here
  • what does life mean to them
We hope this quest of ours would be successful and educative.
Hope you would like to join our quest and find it useful.

Wish us luck !

THANK YOU !
